THE WAVE KAVA TEAM

Wave Kava is the ONLY kava bar where owners and kavatenders share labor and profits equally.

We view all of our employees as highly skilled collaborators, valuing their expertise and commitment, rather than considering them as temporary and expendable workers.

Multi-skilled kavatender and tea enthusiast. More feminist than you with a touch of neurospicy ADHD.

Picture of Erik

Erik

Erik has been in the kava community since 2017; his career is in IT and hopes to change the face of the kava community by uplifting our employees to own a part of our vision.

Picture of Elliot

Elliot

Elliot has been in the kava community for over three years. Originally, he was blown away about how welcoming and supportive the kava community was. He feels somewhere along the way it has lost that community feel. His mission is to bring back that sense of community by creating a welcoming, positive and supportive place.

Picture of Tom

Tom

Tom has been in the Kava community since 2016 and throughout his time has seen the true value of the sober scene and the people who live and thrive in it. With his degree in Political Science from USF, and having worked for many different types of employers, he has also noticed the growing disparity between employers and their workers. In 2021, Tom decided to be a part of the movement that he believes will begin to close that disparity and set a precedence for future establishments.

Picture of Joe

Joe

Joe loves all things kava and has been in the Florida kava community since the very beginning. They're also passionate about the history of the working class and creating community and a sense of belonging among our patrons and friends. For a fun ice-breaker, ask Joe about their very well-traveled and sometimes missing handmade pants.
